Automotive Fraud
Automotive price gouging in the auto body repair industry. How many insurance companies are being over charged for auto body repairs? I have been working in this industry for 10 years, and I have seen it numerous times. There are many fraudulent tactics ,from the body shops over charging insurance companies. Also individual car owners exploiting hail damage to get a new vehicle. Some car owners will use a ball peen hammer to make hail damage look much worse. This will cause their insurance company to total the car and give them a new one. The result of these unscrupulous activities is our insurance rates sky rocketing. How can we put and end to these types of fraud? Do you think the inspectors or adjusters working for the insurance companies should require more training to spot these types of fraud? If so how long of a program should they be required to take before becoming an adjuster or inspector for your insurance company. After all it is the consumer that is picking up the bill for these fraudulent activity's.
